IMPORTANT NOTICE

Retrieval of Files

All our files have been placed in secure storage. If you want your file or any documents or information from your file it can be retrieved from storage. If you require a file please follow the link below to fill out a file request and then sent the request to us by post.

Click here to request a file

To retrieve a file will incur costs. To cover the administrative costs incurred by us involved in a file retrieval we require a cheque in the sum of £60 to be sent to us by post  to our address shown above. The cheque should be made payable to Hall & Co.. This is to cover our administrative costs . This cost is strictly on the basis that the papers you request will fit into a large letter which is classed by the post office as being  353x250mm max thickness 25mm. Many conveyancing files are larger than this. If the file/documents cannot be sent by second class large letter we will  determine the postage payable and will require payment prior to posting the parcel. Likewise if you require first class, recorded or special delivery let us know and we will identify the costs involved.

Special Requirements concerning conveyancing files

If you require a file in relation to a purchase or a transfer where a lender was involved the file cannot be released to you without the lenders permission. In these cases in addition to your completed request we will also require the lenders consent on their letterhead, or proof the lender no longer has any interest on the basis the mortgage has been repaid. If you cannot provide this we can only supply a photocopy of the file. If the file is to be copied we will charge £0.25 per page copied subject to a minimum payment of £10.00. we will advise you of the cost of photocopying if you require copies of documents  and these costs will need to be paid before the file is copied.

We regret we no longer have facilities to allow the personal collection of files and documents.
